An Australian national caught in Bali late last year with small package of marijuana at the Ngurah Rai Airport is facing up to 15 years in jail after prosecutors indicted him with violating article 113 section 1 in Law No.35 of 2009 on Narcotics.

Prosecutors in Tuesday's (30/3) hearing said 1.7 grams of marijuana was found on Robert Paul McJannett late in December last year upon his arrival on a Virgin Blue flight from Perth.

Marijuana is a Category I drug according to indonesian drug law bearing a maximum sentence for the violators of lifetime imprisonment for amounts above five grams.

I Nyoman Sudiantara, legal representatives for Mc Jannett file no objection to the indictment in the hearing and said fully understand the indictment, and trial will resume next week.
